Africa Stereos have been in business since 1996, and each year have grown in size, experience and know-how.
While starting from fairly humble beginnings, we believe that investment in our people and our equipment are paramount to staying ahead of the curve. This commitment has remained unchanged.
In 2009, we invested in CTP plate technology and in 2013, we upped the anté, investing in High Definition imaging at 4800 DPI; double the standard 2400 DPI image setter. We also have 3 digital imaging lines.
Our most recent investment has allowed us to add a flat top dot system to our plate work flow. This allows us to create a flat top dot on a dot, which allows for clearer and more precise printing and ink transfer.
While we have invested in equipment, we have and as importantly, invested in our software and staff. We are running the latest Adobe Software in our DTP department, along with the latest automated Reproduction Software. We run all the latest software, allowing us to check artwork and make sure image ready files are indeed image ready. We even run software which allows us to provide clients with 3D Electronic Proofs.
Should changes need to be made, comments could be applied to a PDF, and returned to us, so the necessary changes could be made. We would also be able to supply full size screen (dot) proofs, which would be colour profiled to your printing supplier; more on that further in the document.
In 2004, Africa Stereos opened a sales and DTP department in Johannesburg, as part of our plan to increase the size of our footprint. Clients from the North West to Mpumalunga, KZN and even Swaziland are serviced from this branch. Like the Cape Town branch, this branch has grown from strength to strength.
Even with the investment in our equipment and capabilities, this all means very little if we cannot offer the service, quality and commitment our clients require. We are really in a service driven industry. Clear and concise communication, internally and externally, are vitally important to allow us to provide the service our clients require.
In order for Africa Stereos to be able to supply the most optimal plate at each supplier, we run a set of finger printing plates. Presses have different variables, and to make sure the print conforms to the very high standard our clients require, this would need to be done before any plates for our clients could be made.
All work is very strictly QC’d, making sure plates go out correctly, first time, every time.
